Pipe camera inspection in Ptolemaida
Pipe camera inspection is a check of the inside of a sewer pipe with a camera that enters through the existing manhole, with no digging at all. Ma.Ster OE, based in Ptolemaida, uses a colour camera with a length counter to locate cracks, roots, leaks and blocked sections across Western Macedonia, Greece. Phone: +30 6976 510926.
Most drainage problems cannot be seen from the surface. A pipe can crack, take in roots or narrow with deposits for years before the first blockage appears. A drain camera shows what is really happening inside the pipe, without opening anything up.
For us, a camera inspection is the first step before any repair. Without it we would be working blind, at risk of fixing the wrong spot or missing a second fault a little further down the pipe. With the picture in front of us we decide whether high-pressure cleaning is enough, whether the repair can be done without digging, or whether a different approach is needed.
The signs
When a camera inspection is worth it
A camera check is justified when there is a problem nobody can explain, and also before decisions that cost money:
- Blockages that keep returning to the same spot despite cleaning.
- Slow drainage that will not go away, or bad smells around the manholes.
- Damp or subsidence in the ground above the pipe route.
- A rise in water use with no obvious reason, which can mean a leak in a part of the network you cannot see.
- Before buying a property or renovating, so you know the real condition of the drainage.
- As a preventive check every few years, before a problem appears.
The process
How the inspection works
The inspection needs no opening in the ground at all, only access to a manhole.
Entry through the manhole
The camera goes down the existing manhole and travels along the pipe, recording the whole route, not just the spot where the problem showed up.
Precise location
The length counter shows how far along each crack, root, shifted joint or narrowing is, and the colour image tells a simple deposit apart from real structural damage.
Report and proposal
We tell you the position and depth of every fault and the solution we propose, so you can decide with the full picture before any work begins.
What the camera shows
Cracks and breaks in the pipe walls, joints that have shifted, tree roots that have entered the pipe looking for moisture, sections narrowed by grease and deposits, and leaks. The exact position and depth of each one is recorded.
That precision is what makes no-dig repair possible: when we know exactly where the fault is and what kind it is, the restoration is done from inside, in the right place, without opening up a road or a yard.
Before buying or renovating
A drainage network that seems to work can hide old cracks or roots. If you plan to buy a property or renovate a bathroom, kitchen or yard, an inspection before you commit shows whether the pipe needs work, before new tiles are laid over a pipe that will later have to be repaired.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
How much does a pipe camera inspection cost?
It depends on how much of the network needs checking, the access to the manholes, and whether the inspection is combined with unblocking or other work. Call +30 6976 510926, tell us what you are noticing and we will give you a price for your case.
Do you need to dig to get the camera in?
No. The camera goes in through the existing manhole and the inspection is done without any opening in the ground.
What will I know after the inspection?
Exactly where each fault is, how deep, and what kind it is, plus the solution we propose: high-pressure cleaning, no-dig repair, or local excavation when the damage allows no other fix.
Is an inspection worth it if I have no problem right now?
As a preventive check every few years, yes, especially on older networks or where there are trees near the pipe route. And before buying a property or renovating, it shows the condition of the drainage before you commit to anything.
Do you also inspect the pipes connected to a cesspool?
Yes. In many cases we check the connecting pipework with the camera at the same time as emptying the cesspool, with no extra trip, for example when the cesspool fills faster than it should, which can mean a leak or water seeping in.
