Where there is no connection to the sewer network, in detached houses outside town plans, holiday homes, farms and vineyards, or industrial sites, waste water ends up in a cesspool that has to be emptied regularly. Left to fill up, the first signs appear inside the property itself.
Emptying cesspools and transporting sewage has to be done with a tanker that holds the required licence, so the waste ends up at an approved disposal point and not just anywhere. Our own tanker is licensed and is kept at our own premises at the 5th km of the Ptolemaida-Kozani road, where it sets out from for every job.

Signs your cesspool is full

- Sinks, showers and toilets draining more slowly than usual.
- A bad smell around the cesspool or inside the house, especially near the drains.

The process
How emptying works
The process is the same for a holiday home and for an industrial plant. Only the volume and the frequency change.
Access to the lid
Emptying goes faster when the tanker has clear access to the cesspool lid. If it is covered by soil, plants or objects, or you are not sure where it is, tell us beforehand so we can find it together.
Suction
The tanker connects to the cesspool through a flexible suction hose and empties the contents into the vehicle’s tank.
Sewage transport
The waste is carried by the licensed tanker to an approved disposal point. If needed, we check the connecting pipework with the camera at the same time.
How often a cesspool needs emptying
There is no single number that suits everyone. It depends on three things: the size of the cesspool, how many people use the property, and how much water is used. A larger cesspool lasts longer between emptyings, while washing machines, heavy bathroom use and more occupants fill it faster.
For holiday homes the picture changes through the year: the sudden jump in occupants over the summer months can fill a cesspool much faster than during the rest of the year. For businesses and industrial sites with a steady flow of waste water, we can agree a regular emptying schedule.
When a cesspool fills too fast
If a cesspool fills noticeably faster than you expect, with no change in how the property is used, there may be a leak or water seeping into the connecting pipe. A camera inspection finds the spot and, if a repair is needed, it can usually be done without digging, from the existing manhole.

Yes. Many properties outside villages, such as holiday homes, farms and vineyards, are not connected to a sewer network and rely on a cesspool. Our tanker reaches them across Western Macedonia.
